Did you know there is a tiny village named Eenigenburg in the Netherlands, and that it contains a wonderful museum
showcasing not only the history of the area in Holland, but also our family’s emigration to America in 1849.
This website provides a central location for the history and connection of Eenigenburg family members.
It tells the heartbreaking story about the loss of life suffered by our ancestors during their emigration
and provides historic information on how they settled a vast wilderness that became the Roseland area of Chicago.
In recent years, the relationship between the village and the family has been renewed and
